The organized mesoporous matrices with large surface area and large pore volumes are potential host materials in the field of environmental, sustainability issues. The objective of the present study highlights to innovative synthesise approaches for porous synthetic hectorite clay. The synthetic hectorite material were synthesised by use of traditional hydrothermal, non-traditional, templated and template free synthesise approaches. The developed materials were fully characterized by XRD, FT-IR, XRF, BET surface area, SEM, and TGA / DSC thermal analysis techniques. Among the several potential uses of these synthetic materials we selectively applied the synthesised metrics in the light of environmental issues such as selective gas adsorption and waste water treatment. In addition the efficacy of mesoporous synthetic hectorites as drug delivery carrier was examined. |
