Microparticles have received many attentions because of their characteristics and broad applications. As the interest in microparticles has increased, various manufacturing methods have been developed. In this study, microparticles were prepared by emulsion polymerization. Moreover, within the manufacturing process, we applied Diels-Alder reaction between furan functional polymer and cross-linker that is contained dual-maleimide group in its chemical structure. Diels-Alder reaction is one of the general methods to make cyclic molecules using conjugated diene and alkene. The reaction is widely used in the laboratory because it makes two carbon-carbon bonds rapidly. The obtained microparticles are used as coating materials on porous substrates to control the porosity for its purpose to use. |
