The formation of conducting polymers/metal nano structures has been attracted great attention due to their electronic property and flexibility. We synthesized polythiophene derivatives to prepare conducting polymer/gold nanocomposites to get a polymeric materials system having high conductivity. The polythiophene derivatives are poly(3-decyltrioxyethylene thiophene)(PD3OT), poly(3-methyltrioxyethylene thiophene) (PM3OT), and poly(3-decyltrioxyethylene thio thiophene)(PD3OTT). We complexed the polymers with gold salt such as LiAuCl4 or HAuCl4, and then the gold salts were reduced by adding chemical reducing agent. We confirmed that gold nanonetwork in polythiophene template was formed by using TEM. We studied the mechanism for the formation of gold nanonetwork using NMR, IR, TEM, SEM, UV-Vis, and XRD. We also measured electric properties, optical properties, and mechanical properties of the films of these composite materials. |
