제목 A study on nanostructured SnO2/TiO2 electrode for photochemical water splitting
초록 TiO2 photoelectrode is being used in photoelectrochemical (PEC) cell, which is used for water splitting. In order to increase the efficiency of the photoelectrode, we designed and fabricated SnO2/TiO2 photoelectrode. Then, the physical properties of the photoelectrode were analyzed using a device such as a TEM or XPS. As a result, we confirmed that a thin TiO2 layer was present on the SnO2 nanoparticles as designed. Next, the photocurrent density of the SnO2/TiO2 photoelectrode was measured, and it showed a marked improvement in performance compared with the use of the single SnO2 or TiO2 electrode. As a result of measuring the photocurrent density while changing the TiO2 deposition time, it was confirmed that the photocurrent density was maximum at 90 minutes. It showed about 12.4% higher efficiency than a TiO2/TiO2 photoelectrode produced under the same conditions and same deposition time.
