제목 Synthesis and Optical Properties of Hybrid Materials Containing Azobenzene Unit by the Sol-Gel Process
초록 Recently, organic-inorganic hybrid materials containing azobenzene unit by sol-gel process have been studied in the field of optical data storage, nonlinear optical, and holographic applications. Sol-gel process involving hydrolysis and condensation can form various microstructures as a matrix with the high optical quality at low temperature. Also, the large variety of suitable organic molecules allows a controlling of optical, chemical, and mechanical properties.
In this study, we synthesized the Organically Modified Silane (ORMOSIL) containing Disperse Red 19 (DR19) for optical data storage. The material was prepared via the sol-gel process using 3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl isocyanate (ICPTEOS) and tetraethylortho silicate (TEOS) as precursors. The materials having the urethane group were obtained by the reaction between Disperse Red 19(DR19) as the chromophore and 3-(triethoxysilyl) propyl isocyanate (ICPTEOS). The structure of material was characterized by FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy. The diffraction behavior of films was investigated by two-beam coupling method. The pump beam was used with Ar-ion laser at 514nm, and the probe beam was used with He-Ne laser at 633nm. The surface relief grating of films was confirmed by AFM(Atomic Force Microscopy).
