The organic sol-gel system yields microporous organic molecular networks which are synthesized by a two-stage mechanism involving the formation of colloidal dispersions(sols) and the subsequent growth to monolithic networks by solvent evaporation, The organic sol is prepared by cross-linking condensation polymerization of tetrakis(4-aminophenyl)methane and hexamethylene diisocyanate. Addition of the organic sols into water produces nanocapsules of 3D covalent molecular network. These nanocapsules are generated by sol-gel transition inside the mini-emulsions formed in the mixture. To study this phenomenon, various conditions such as sol concentration, pH, reaction temperature, non-solvent are changed. The effects of the conditions on the chemistry of the formation of capsules will be discussed. |
