Pohang Synchrotron Light Source and Its Applications in the Structure Analysis of Functional Polymers and Biomacromolecules |
초록 |
Pohang synchrotron light source facility and its applications in various fields are introduced. In particular, synchrotron X-ray scattering has great advantages over optical, electron, X-ray and atomic force microscopies. For the advantages, in recent years the GIXS has become the major analytical tool for characterizing structures and properties of a variety of nanostructures and nanoscale thin films in a single and multilevels. Further, solution X-ray scattering has recently become a very powerful tool to provide structural information about bio-macromolecules (proteins, DNAs, RNAs, and polysaccharides) in any natural conditions including single crystals as well as pH and temperature variations and drugs and ligand bindings. All GIXS and solution X-ray scattering results conducted in our laboratory will be discussed in details with considering the materials chemistry and structure formation mechanism. |
