Direct methanol fuel cell(DMFC) is one of the most attractive power sources for portable and automobile power need, due to its inherently high efficiency and low emission. Polymeric Nafion is widely used as polymer electrolyte membrane because of its high proton conductivity, good thermal and chemical stabilities. However, it has high methanol permeability and high cost. In the present work, a composite membrane was fabricated by polymerizing di(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate(DEGDMA) with styrenesulfonic acid(SSA). We expect that the membrane has lower methanol permeability, higher proton conductivity and cheaper than Nafion. |
