Separation and Purification of p-Dioxanone by Layer melt Crystallization Method using Seed |

The Separation and purification of p-dioxanone from p-dioxanone (PDX) and diethylene glycol(DEG) system has been studied. The kinetics of layer melt crystallization using seed of PDX-DEG mixture in non-flow system with cooling have been studied. The effect of subcooling, cooling rate and the initial concentration of the melt on the crystallization efficiency were investigated. The SLE(solid-liquied equilibria) of PDX and DEG were simple eutectic system. The growth rate of PDX was found to be proportional to the subcooling degree with power of 1.49. The effective distribution coefficient was decreased with decreasing the growth rate and increasing the mass transfer coefficient and proportionated to Z function in Wintermantel's model. |
