The demand moisture-permeable and water proof fabrics increased with request for sportswear which has various complex functionalities. However, these fabrics have a major weakness that is the loss of performance over time. Research on self-healing polymers has attracted numerous attentions recently. These polymers improve the durability and safety of materials. In this research, furan based self-healing polymer was synthesized from Polybutylene Furanoate and Bismaleimide via Diels-Alder reaction and blended with BPU. Polyethylene glycol was also blended to gain non-porous type vapor-permeable properties. Polymer was coated on Polylactide fabric using doctor blade. The self-healing ability, moisture-permeability and water-proof properties of the self-healing membrane were analyzed. This research was supported by Basic Science Research Program through the National Research Foundation (NRF) of Korea funded by the Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning (NRF-2014R1A1A3049867). |
