Split of Diesel Injection Spray using Fuel Atomization Device |
초록 |
Metro subway tunnels using motor cars for periodic cleaning and heavy engine trains also release a significant amount of exhaust gases including unburned soot. In particular, diesel engines with old design consume more fuel and discharge more pollutants. Since more fundamently it is equipped after the combustion process, fuel consumption more or less increases. FAD(Fuel atomization device), which is a new design for fuel atomization in this work, splits the injected liquid diesel droplets before supplying to the engine room. The finely atomized fuel may improve the combustion efficiency, and thereby reduce the fuel consumption and ultimately contribute to reduction of gas emissions. An empirical field test in Mongolia locomotives proved FAD to decrease the emissions of PM10 and black carbon up to 58 % and 29.5% respectively. In order to ascertain the internal flow patterns of FAD and to understand the mechanism, CFD technique was applied in this work. |
