Fabrication of Wavy Nanowires for Transparent and Stretchable Electrodes |

In a pursuit to develop emerging future soft electronics, transparent electrode that is mechanically stretchable is an essential component. Transparent conducting oxide (TCO) has been the most widely used material for transparent electrodes in hard electronics however the brittle nature of TCO would limit the mechanical deformation. Ag nanowire (Ag NW) based electrodes are promising candidates with their electrical and optical properties under strain. Although there have been ample amount of reports in enhancing Ag NW based electrodes, studies on the control of nanowire structure have been lacking. Here, we present a facile method to fabricate wavy Ag NW networks which are transferrable to a variety of substrates. The wavy configurations of Ag NWs are obtained by floating NWs on water and following compressing them. |
