Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) transparent electrodes in the waste liquid crystal display (LCD), contain indium oxides, known as an expensive rare metal. Therefore, LCD recycling is becoming an significant issue in terms of securing resources and solving environmental problems. Followed by dismantling of waste LCD, for indium recovery from LCD through solvent extraction and stripping is the basic stage. The determination of optimum conditions is necessary from efficient solvent extraction and stripping process development perspective. Hence, extraction efficiency of indium as function of controlling the process parameter like pH of leachant, extractant concentration, extractant/leachant volume ratio were investigated. As extractant, D2EHPA were used. Through our investigation, as the pH level of the leachant increased and the concentration of D2EHPA increased, the extraction of In tended to increase. |
