제목 Preparation of Silk Sericin Microparticles by Electrospray and Its Application for Drug Delivery
초록 Silk sericin is a natural polymer from silkworm. It has high content of serine about 30% and glue like property. This protein envelops two strands of silk fibroin and maintains the shape of a cocoon. We have previously demonstrated that the silk sericin beads have a potent as a drug carrier for oral administration. In this study, we prepared the ethanol-precipitated sericin(EpSS) by mixing the sericin solution with ethanol for 1 hour. The EpSS was dissolved in LiCl/DMSO solvent and made into microparticles by electrospray method. The size of the EpSS microparticles increased with the concentration of EpSS. The size of the EpSS microparticles is in the range of 10 to 500μm. The swelling ratio of EpSS microparticles was sensitive with pH. These results indicate that the EpSS microparticles can be utilized at drug delivery.
