제목 | Characterization and Preparation of Low Molecular Water-soluble Chitosan Nanoparticle for Using as a Biomedical Materials |
초록 | Low molecular and water-soluble chitosan nanoparticles (LMWSC-NPs) were prepared by dialysis method as modify the chitosan with hydrophobic and hydrophilic group and investigated the potential as delivery system for gene or hydrophobic drug. The LMWSC-NPs modified hydrophobically would be used to both of intravenous injection and oral administration of hydrophobic drugs due to their adequate size for administration. First, we performed the experiment of electrophoresis, transfection efficiency and cytotoxicity to investigate the potential as a gene carrier. From these results, LMWSC having free-amine group will be useful in the development of safe gene carriers. Also, the surface morphology of hydrophobically modified LMWSC-NPs was identified from the results of TEM and AFM, and its size was 30∼100nm. Using these nanoparticle, we tried the loading of poorly water-soluble drug and evaluated the potential as a drug carrier for anticancer agent. References 1. J.W. Nah, and M.K. Jang, J. Polym.
