제목 Removal of Cu(II) ions by chitosan/graphite oxide/maghemite magnetic composites
초록 The composites of chitosan, graphite oxide, and iron oxide were prepared by w/o emulsion method in order to remove the heavy metals in the aqueous pollutant. Both chitosan and graphite oxide were used as adsorbents. Iron oxide was introduced in the composite for the easy recovery after adsorbing heavy metals to eliminate the secondary pollution. The morphology of composites was investigated by FE-SEM showing the graphite oxide coated with chitosan and the iron oxide dispersed in the chitosan matrix. The ferromagnetic properties of composites were obtained by including iron oxide additive. The copper ion removal was investigated with ICP AES. Both chitosan and graphite oxide improved the copper ion removal efficiency by the synergistic effect of high adsorption from the surface complexation and the ion exchange. The copper ion removal efficiency increased greatly over 80 % by using chitosan-graphite oxide composites.
