Endocrine disrupting chemicals, such as bisphenol A (BPA), is a great concern in water treatment. The existing conventional methods, such as coagulation and chlorination, are normally not selective and effective for the removal of both natural and synthetic matter in water. Development of a reliable method for the removal of BPA and natural organic matter from water is challenging, but significantly important in advanced water quality control. Hence, a novel method to prepare activated carbons, which can remove them simultaneously, was investigated under various conditions in this study. |
