Hih Flux Electrospun Nafion/PVdF Filtration Membrane |

In this research, we compare the liquid filtration properties of electrospun Nafion/PVdF membrane with conventional microfiltration membranes. Electrospinning is the technique that gains sub-micron to nano-scale fibers through an elelctrically charged jet of polymer solution. Electrospun Nafion/PVdF membrane will have high flux compared to conventional microfiltraion membrane due to high porosity and large surface area per unit volume through its unique structure and hydrophilic sulfonic acid moieties by which Nafion has side chains terminated is expected to reduce fouling by hydrophobic suspension. The characteristics of these are decided by flux, porosity, pore size, contact angle. |
