제목 Formation of the different phase crystallites in polypropylene/PP-g-MAH/MMT nanocomposites.
초록 It is well known that the γ-phase in the neat PP is only formed in some special cases such as isothermal crystallization under very high pressure and crystallization of very low molecular weight fractions.
Recently, Toyota research group reported that the creation of γ-phase crystallite in well-ordered intercalated polymer/clay nanocomposites.
In this study, our objective is to investigate that the formation of the different phase crystallites in nanocomposites with various MMT contents.
Polypropylene/PP-g-MAH/MMT nanocomposites with various MMT contents were prepared by melt mixing method. After nanocomposites had been pressed and annealed, MMT dispersion in nanocomposites was observed using transmission electron microscopy.
The degree of crystallinity and melting temperature of nanocomposites were determined by differential scanning calorimetry. The α & γ-phase crystallites in nanocomposites were probed using a wide-angle X-ray diffraction and small-angle X-ray scattering.
