pH-sensitive photocatalytic activity of PVA/PAAc/TiO2/PANI-graphene nanocomposites for organic pollutants |

Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc)/TiO2/polyaniline (PANI)-graphene nanocomposites were prepared for the waste water purification applications. Both PVA and PAAc were used as polymeric matrices in order to recovery easily after the purification step. PAAc was used especially for the pH-sensitive property of the nanocomposites. Graphene is used to enhance the adsorption of pollutants and PANI is used to prevent the restacking of graphene and to improve the electron transferring from TiO2. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) were used to confirm the morphology and the structure. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by UV spectrometer based on the degradation of model pollutant under various pHs. The pH-sensitivity of nanocomposites played an important role in the basic waste water purification. |
