제목 Photocatalytic Oxidation of Formaldehyde over TiO2 Aerogel catalyst
초록 Despite its utility and broad application, Formaldehyde (FA) has been considered as one of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and its removal is essential. In this work, we studied the removal efficiency of FA through chemical adsorption and photocatalytic oxidation using a series of titanium oxide (TiO2)-based photocatalyst. Pre-synthesized TiO2 were grafted with aerogel framework to benefit from its large specific surface area and expose more catalytically active sites, which is advantageous as a photocatalyst. A series of TiO2-based aerogels with different physical and chemical properties were synthesized including nanofiber TiO2 and monolithic TiO2 and were compared to the activity of the commercial TiO2 catalyst. The TiO2 nanoparticles inside the amorphous aerogel network has shown key improvement in the performance due to the enhanced crystallinity. The complete degradation of FA was achieved within 60 min with 100% removal efficiency.
