Kinetics and mechanism of the interfacial mass-transfer of succinic acid in a microporous membrane-based cell |

Rates and mechanism of succinic acid extraction with tri-n-octylamine were investigated using a microporous membrane-based cell. The contribution of diffusional resistance to the overall extraction kinetics was eliminated with membrane-based cell. Intrinsic rate equation and a possible reaction mechanism for the formation and dissociation of the acid-amine complexes were obtained. The values of mass-transfer parameter and the results of the experiment indicated that this reaction was controlled mainly by the interfacial chemical reactions. |
