Fabrication of disordered porous structures using smectic liquid crystals by solvent-assisted process |
초록 |
Disordered porous structures have been interested in optical applications due to physical and optical phenomena. Here, we have created disordered porous structures using smectic liquid crystals (LCs) by solvent-assisted process. We have observed deformation from LC-layered structures of toric focal conic domains (TFCDs) which have ordered structures to micron-scale pores which have disordered structures. These results were analyzed by polarized optical microscopy (POM), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXD) methods. Our results may lead to further fabrication of disordered porous structures using LCs and various applications in the future. |
