We investigated a variation of morphology and charge carrier transport properties of derivatives of triethylsilylethynyl-modified dibenzochrysene (TES-DBC) were affected by addition of side groups. The introduced side groups affected crystallinity, crystal size, and packing patterns. The TES-DBC derivative with thienyl (DTTES-DBC), the smallest side group formed well-ordered molecular assemblies, which facilitate fast charge carrier transport. In addition, use of a processing solvent with a high boiling point (1,2,4-trichlorobenzene; TCB) for TES-DBC provided a sufficiently long time for film formation, which results in improved molecular ordering. The DTTES-DBC coated from TCB exhibited a more ordered film morphology and higher field-effect mobility than other TES-DBC derivatives. |
