Highly-ordered graphene self-assembly into flexibla and macroporous carbon films |

The organization of carbon materials into three-dimensional complex geometries is one of the major challenges in carbon technology for their ultimate utilization. In particular, planar and mechanically flexible graphene is a new model scheme for carbon material assembly. Here, we report a facile and controllable approach for highly ordered three-dimensional graphene assembly. Macroporous graphene assemblies were attained by so called ‘Breath Figure’ method. Polymer-grafted graphene oxide is assembled into macroporous film by self-organized aqueous droplets. Subsequent pyrolysis exposed the mechanically flexible carbon films with highly ordered morphologies. The additional nitrogen-doping process of three-dimensional carbon assemblies could enhance the electrical properties and supercapacitor performances and provide chemical functionalizability. |
