PREPARATION OF ORDERED MICROPOROUS THIN FILMS FROM ARBORESCENT COPOLYMER MICELLES |

Microporous films with regular patterned structure have the potential applications for the membranes, optical materials, catalysts, templates, cell culture substrates, transparent and super hydrophobic polymer films. Ordered porous films of arborescent copolymers were prepared by the breath figure method upon solvent evaporation. The ordered pattern of microstructure was studied by atomic force microscope(AFM) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The effect of the relative humidity(RH), graft length, solvent, type of the side chain and generation number(G) of arborescent copolymers on the porous structures was investigated. It was found that a suitable solvent, the length of side chain, G, and comparably high RH are needed for the ordered structure. The microporous films were also contacted with AgNO3 solutions then reduced to silver nanoparticles embedded into polymer shells by NaBH4 solution. |
