제목 Surface modification of bacterial cellulose with gelatin and acrylic acid using gamma-ray irradiation
초록 Bacterial cellulose (BC), produced by Gluconacetobacter hansenii TL-2C, has unique structure and chemical properties such as ultrafine reticulated structure, chemical purity, high water holding capacity, and high tensile strength. Thus, BC has recently attracted significant attention for tissue engineering. In this study, 5 and 10 wt% Acrylic acid (AAc) was grafted onto BC surfaces using gamma-ray irradiation, and then immobilized gelatin onto AAc-g-BC. The characterization of BC scaffold was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), toluidine blue O (TBO) assay, ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, 2,4,6,-trinitro-benzensulfonic acid (TNBS) assay, and contact angle measurements. To confirm the biocompatibility, the cell adhesion and spreading of BC nanofibers were evaluated using human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC).
