Radiation synthesis of micro-porous polymer using extra-purified chitosan |
초록 |
Chitosan has been widely applied as multi-functional biomedical materials. However, its applications are restricted because it is essentially insoluble in water at neutral pH. Therefore many chemically modified researches have performed to improve the solubility of the chitosan. In this study, water soluble chitosan was simply prepared by extra-purifying and alkaline precipitation. And then the extra-purified chitosan (EP-chitosan) was fabricated to micro-porous polymer by using gamma-irradiation. The EP-chitosan porous polymer has abundant serum adsorption capacity in a few seconds without dissolution and certain compressive strength and elasticity. This study suggests the new biocompatible scaffolds that have applications in drug delivery, tissue engineering, and cosmetics. |
