Antibacterial activity of poly(acrylic acid) hydrogels containing zinc particle prepared by gamma-ray irradiation |
초록 |
poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc) was designed to form a hydrogel system through a simultaneous free-radical copolymerization and crosslinking without any crosslinked agents except for the incorporation of zinc by gamma irradiation. This PAAc hydrogel is expected to be an excellent substrate for dispersing and stabilizing metal particles. PAAc powder was completely dissolved in DI water at room temperature. Water-insoluble zinc oxide or water-soluble zinc chloride powder with different concentrations were then added into the PAAc solution and stirred until totally dissolved. Finally, the hydrogels were prepared by gamma-ray irradiation. The antibacterial properties of PAAc hydrogel containing zinc particle were evaluated by paper diffusion test against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. |
