KNN Based Single Crystal Grown by Abnormal Grain Growth Using Aerosol Deposition Method |

Abnormal grain growth (AGG) method has been utilized to prepare seeds of (1−x)(K0.5Na0.5)NbO3−xBa(Cu1/3Nb2/3)-O3 (KNN−xBCuN) lead-free piezoelectric single crystals. KNN−BCuN which can compensate the loss of Na+ found in the KNN ceramics by Ba2+ and promote the formation of a large amount of liquid phase by the addition of CuO. We have been able to maximize abnormal grain growth by increasing the density of initial specimens using an aerosol deposition (AD) method in the composition of KNN-based materials. The deposited film by using the AD method showed dense structures with nanoscale particles at room temperature. The single crystals of highly dense structure were obtained through annealing process of the AD films and seed crystals. We were able to get microstructure and crystallinity, which are different from the existing specimen, were confirmed by SEM and XRD. |
