Synthesis and application of polybenzoxazoles precursors(Ⅲ) |

Polyhydroxyamides(PHAs) having poly(ethylene glycol)methyl ether(MPEG) and/or dimethylphenoxy pendant group were synthesized by condensation polymerization at room temperature. The polymer precursors were characterized by FT-IR and 1H-NMR. PHAs were converted to polybenzoxazoles(PBOs) by thermal cyclization reaction. This polymers were studied by FT-IR, DSC, and TGA. PHAs having MPEG were soluble in DMAc, DMF, DMSO, NMP and co-solvents, but the PBOs were nearly insoluble in a variety of solvents.
