In this study, we variously controlled the morphology of organic-inorganic composite particles by seeded polymerization. We focused the phase separation between seed particle and swollen monomer during seeded polymerization. To obtain various morphologies of composite particles, polymerization rate of monomer was controlled with modulating initiator types and polymerization temperature. In addition, in order to induce phase separation by the elastic-retractile force between polymer and swollen monomer, we used the semi-interpenetrating polymer network as a seed particle. As a result, we were able to control variously the shapes of non-spherical particles. |
