Recycle process of the cylindrical-type porous pellets containing copper-manganese oxide catalyst were developed. Copper and manganese constituents was selectively recovered by a simple acid leaching process at room temperature. Thus obtained transition metal elements could be re-usable as catalytic metal precursors in preparing amorphous copper-manganese oxide catalyst using alkali metal silicate titration. The residual silicate matrix obtained after acid treatment showed enhanced porous property and gas removal efficiency, especially, for ammonia. The recycled silicate matrix exhibited increased pore volume (>0.80 cm3/g) and specific surface area (> 200 m2/g), respectively. The recycle process enables us to make cost-effective ceramic gas filter media and provides a environmental-benign and resource-recycling production route. |
