Optimum reaction conditions on Co/0.05P-Al2O3 Fischer-Tropsch catalyst by using statistical design of experiment (DOE) |

The effect of reaction variables on Co/0.05P-Al2O3 Fischer-Tropsch catalyst was investigated by using the statistical design of experiment (DOE) method at fixed-bed reactor. The P modified Al2O3 support was synthesized by using the sol-gel method with the addition of phosphoric acid at P/Al mole ratio of 0.05 and 20wt.%Co/0.05P-Al2O3 was prepared by wet impregnation method. At SV = 2000 L/kgcat/h, the CO conversion and C5+ yield were maximized around 38.6% and 32.7% respectively at the following optimum reaction conditions; T = ~ 225 oC and P = ~ 22.8 bar. The statistical DOE method is useful method to find out the optimum reaction conditions with a minimum experimental run. |
