Although hyperfluorescence organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) produce high quantum efficiencies, their short operational lifetimes suppress commertialization. To understand the origin for the poor device longevity, we carried out mechanistic studies for singlet exciton sensitizers, including 5,9-diphenyl-5,9-diaza-5,9-13b-boranaphtho[3,2,1-de]anthracene (DABNA-1), 9-([1,1'-biphenyl]-3-yl)-N,N,5,11-tetraphenyl-5,9-dihydro-5,9-diaza-13b-boranaphtho[3,2,1-de]anthracen-3-amine (DABNA-2), and 2,4,5,6-tetra(9H-carbazol-9-yl)isophthalonitrile (4CzIPN). Our investigations reveal that the positive polaron of the sensitizer is the key species that governs the operational lifetime. |
