제목 | Novel method for the fabrication of ZnO nanotetrapods and their applications for acetone sensing |
초록 | Zinc oxide (ZnO) is an important II-VI group semiconductor with remarkable properties and wide-range of applications. ZnO with its wide direct-band gap of 3.37 eV and high-exciton-binding energy of 60 mV at room temperature makes it be most extensively studied semiconductor material. ZnO has been grown in different fabrication processes in a wide range of morphologies. Among these morphologies tetrapods show many advantages in the optical and sensing properties of ZnO. In this study ZnO nano tetrapods are grown using simple microwave technology. The structural properties of the nano tetrapods were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD, Rigaku D/MAX RC) using Cu Kα radiation with a Ni filter and the surface morphology of the ZnO nanostructures was investigated by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The effect of growth time and source materials on the tetrapods formation has been studied. The prepared tetrapods were fabricated for gas sensor for the detection of acetone checmial. The sensing properties of ZnO tetrapods were studied at different concentration levels and operating temperatures.
