In this study, the thermal and mechanical properties of post-curing in a composite were investigated according to the time variable. The mixed resin was used in combination of epoxy and polyimide. The mixed resin was thermally cured at 170°C for 1 h, and post-curing was performed at 200°C for 1-10 h, respectively. Thermal properties were measured using DSC and TGA, and thermomechanical properties were measured using DMA and TMA, respectively. In addition, the flexural and impact strength specimens according to the post-curing time were manufactured according to ASTM standard, and was measured using a UTM and an Izod impact testing machine. After the impact test, the surface morphology of the fractured surface was observed with a scanning electron microscopy. As a result, thermal and mechanical properties were improved due to an increase in crosslinking density due to post-curing. |
