제목 | Electrocatalytic Stability of Tin Nanoparticle for Electrochemical Reduction of CO2 to Formate |
초록 | The electrochemical catalysis approaches have great attention as a promising method for CO2 reduction. However, low catalytic activity and insufficient stability are major challenges result in low performance of electrocatlysis. In this study, electrocatalytic stability of tin (Sn) nanoparticle was tested in an H-type cell consists of two vessels containing aqueous solutions. The Sn/carbon fiber paper (CFP) cathode immersed in CO2-saturated 0.5 M KHCO3 and Pt coil anode immersed in 0.5 M KOH were separated by ion exchange membrane. The electrolysis was performed by potentiostat/galvanostat for 152 h over –2.0 V vs. Ag/AgCl reference electrode. The Faradaic efficiency (FE, %) of formate on the Sn/CFP was increased and maintained at high value (max. 93%) for 32 h, and then it decreased after that time. The partial current density (mA·cm-2, PCD) of formate was also decreased after 32 h electrolysis. |
