Development of mesh-type electrode using electro-deposition for oxygen evolution reaction in both alkaline and acidic solutions |
초록 |
We proposed facile and reproducible method for preparing mesh-type dimensionally stable anode (DSA) consisting of Ru and Ir as oxygen evolution reaction catalyst in acidic and alkaline medium. The various electrodeposition (ED) conditions, i.e. applied current and total cycle number, and ED solutions with different precursor ratio of Ru and Ir were employed to fabricate DSA electrodes that had uniform thickness and investigated the effect of Ir content on catalytic activity. Among fabricated DSA electrodes, the DSA electrode in absence of Ir exhibited the highest activity and stability in acidic medium due to high ratio of Ru. On the other hand, the DSA electrode obtained using ED solution with the ratio of 8: 2 exhibited the highest performance in alkaline medium. In addition, two large-scale DSA electrodes optimized in acidic and alkaline electrolyte showed outstanding performance, indicating the feasibility of application of this electrode on practical electrolysis. |
