Quantum dots and neutron targets doped mesoporous silica beads for scintillator |
초록 |
Mesoporous silicabeads can be used for embedding functional materials because of their orderednanopores. The quantum dots (QDs) and neutron targets (NTs) materials dopedmesoporous silica beads are prepared as nanocomposite scintillators for neutrondetection. The microbead scintillators contain6Li or 10B as neutron target materials. For theapplication of highly selective neutron detection, the doped silica microbeads weredispersed in polymer matrix. The pore size of microbeads was varied for the effectiveinsertion of NTs and QDs. The radius of microbeads was also controlled to correspondwith the diffusion length of tritium produced by neutronabsorption in NTs, which may enhance the selectivity of radiation detectionbetween neutron and gamma ray. |
