제목 Synthesis and Characterization of PLGA/PEG Block Copolymer Hydrogels for Tissue Expander Application
초록 A series of biodegradable block copolymer hydrogels having a delayed swelling property were synthesized and evaluated for tissue expansion applications. The hydrogels were synthesized via radical crosslinking reaction of poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG) diacrylate and PLGA-PEG-PLGA diacrylate which act as hydrophilic crosslinker and a swelling/degradation controller, respectively. Various PLGA-PEG-PLGA tri-block copolymers with different LA/GL ratios and different PLGA block lengths were synthesized, and they were modified to have terminal acrylate groups as confirmed by FT-IR and 1H-NMR measurements. The in vitro degradation tests showed that the delayed swelling of the hydrogels could be modulated by varying the chemical composition of the biodegradable crosslinker, and the lag time before swelling ranged from one week to five weeks.
