제목 Preparation and Electrochemical Characterization of Li1.1Nb0.9O2-y as a Negative Electrode Material for Lithium Secondary Batteries
초록 In the present work, we report on the oxide Li1.1Nb0.9O2-y as a novel active material for application to the negative electrode of lithium secondary batteries. First principles calculations predicted that redox reactions of lithium ions on the Li1.1Nb0.9O2-y material occur at low potentials. This was subsequently confirmed experimentally by electrochemical measurements.  The sample formulated as Li1.1Nb0.9O2-y was prepared by heating a mixture of powders of Li1.1Nb0.3O1.3 and NbO in a molar ratio of 6:3.6 in an alumina tube at 1000 oC in H2 for 60 hours.  The structure of Li1.1Nb0.9O2-y was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Rietveld refinement of the collected data was performed using the Reflex (Accelrys Inc. Ver. 5.0) Rietveld (DBWS) code. Composite electrodes were used for charge/discharge tests and cyclic voltammetry (CV).
