In this study, a simple method was purposed to prepare polyurethane(PU)/poly(caprolactone) (PCL) blends film that possess shape memory attributes for biomedical application by charaterizing their mechanical, thermoforming and degradation properties. Biocompatible and biodegradable polyurethanes were prepared with aliphatic diisocyanate, isosorbide, and PCL diol via simple one-shot polymerization without a catalyst. Physical properties of the blends were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), dynamic mechnical thermal analysis (DTMA), Thermomechanical analysis (TMA), and tensile strength. Morphological features are studied using small angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) and wide angle x-ray scattering (WAXS). |
