Smart Star Polymer Nano Reactor with Photosensitive core |

A series of photosensitive amphiphilc star block copolymers were synthesized by controlled radical polymerization. A number of amphiphilc block copolymer arm chains with a porphyrine photosensitive core formed hydrophilic shell and hydrophobic core structure with photosensitive catalyst, where the hydrophobic core effectively generated a nano sized reacting place for a photo catalytic reaction. We examined several catalytic reactions with these star polymers and applied for water purification such as BTEX remover. |
