Nanocomposites of Polyaniline and Layered Double Hydroxide |

In this study, the nanocomposites of polyaniline (PANI) and layered double hydroxide (LDH) were prepared in an aqueous medium in the presence of LDH. The intercalating agent that forms acid-base salt with aniline monomer was also used as doping agent. The electrical conductivity of PANI with LDH was 6.5x10-5 S/cm, while that of PANI without LDH was 6.0x10-2 S/cm at room temperature. In order to confirm the intercalation or exfoliation between LDH layers wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis were conducted. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) demonstrated enhancement of the thermal stability of the nanocomposites relative to the PANI without LDH. |
