We designed and developed a tumor-pH responsive polymeric photosensitizer for cancer photodynamic therapy (TRPP). Ring opening polymerization (ROP) and aminolysis were used for the synthesis of TRPP. The TRPP is soluble in aqueous solvent, tumor-pH recognizable, and charge-conversable properties. To be specific, TRPP is able to switch its ζ-potential from negative to positive one at tumor region, resulting in facilitating enhanced cellular uptake, which led to cytotoxicity in cancer cells. Therefore, we conclude that TRPP has a considerable potential as a next generation photosensitizer for photodynamic cancer therapy. |
