Fabrication of Microarchitecture Consist of PEG Hydrogel and PCL Nanofiber for Cell Encapsulation and Protein Delivery |

Well defined micro-scale architecture composed of electrospun PCL nanofibers and photopatterned PEG polymer hydrogel was fabricated by simple method. Possible applications are cell encapsulation and protein delivery. Cell encapsulation for providing 3D environment, cell adhesion and bioassay has got interest in tissue engineering field. On the other hand, Protein delivery to specific tissue region is important issue, especially in drug delivery system area. To deliver protein, injection of carrier which loaded with protein, with gradual release property is studied widely. In this study, hydrogel and nanofiber complex is fabricated aimed for such use. Cell encapsulation potential was demonstrated by seeding fibroblasts on this micro architecture and protein release was compared by loading BSA confirming protein delivery. Resulting hydrogel-nanofiber micro structure showed controllable release and high cell viability. |
