Modified colloid silica template core nanoparticles, having carbon double bond on surface, were first synthesized by reacting with 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (MPS), polymerized with a mixture of n-isopropyl acrylamide (NIPAAm) and foamable methacryloyl toluenesulfonyl hydrazide (MATSH) with methylene bisacrylamide (MBAA) as crosslinking agent. Thermoreversible hollow nanoshpheres were prepared by removal of silica core by etching with hydrofluoric acid (HF), and decomposition of PMATSH moieties. Silica and its hollow nanoshpheres were characterized by dynamic light scattering (DLS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) image, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopies (NMR). |
