In this study, polypyrrole, polythiophene, poly(3-thiopheneacetic acid), and polyaniline with hydrophilic property was coated on the surface of MWNT, respectively, by in-situ polymerization. Subsequently, Pt-Ru alloy nanoparticles were deposited on the polypyrrole, polythiophene, poly(3-thiopheneacetic acid), and polyaniline-coated MWNT by chemical reduction assisted with ultrasonic irradiation. Finally, the Pt-Ru@polymer/MWNT catalysts were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), XPS, CO stripping and methanol oxidation. |
