An efficient electrocatalyst for water splitting based on flower-like carbon nanostructure with nickel foam by hydrothermal process |
초록 |
Developing effective and earth-abundant electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is critical for the commercialization of a water splitting system. In particular, the overpotential of the OER is relatively higher than the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), and thus, it is considered that one of the important methods to enhance the performance of the electrocatalyst is to reduce the overpotential of the OER. In this work, we present a simple synthetic route for the preparation of flower-like carbon nanostructure with high performance OER activity. This flower-like nano carbon structure grown uniformly on a nickel support through hydrothermal synthesis shows superior OER catalytic performance with a current density of 10mAcm-2 at small over potential of 320 mV, a low Tafel slope of 30mVdec-1 by Lenear Sweep Voltammetry, and excellent stability more than 24 hours in alkaline media. We believe that the prepared flower-like carbon nanostructure with high performance OER activity, which can give further feasibility for the commercialization of a water splitting system. |
